The department is equipped with state of the art laboratories with uninterrupted power supply and excellent learning environment. MTech Programme includes lab which provides hands on experience in experimental aspects related to the programme.

SOFTWARE LAB

The Power System Simulation Laboratory was established to support the advanced research and training in topics related to Power System Analysis and Simulation.This laboratory is used for research activity related to Power System Analysis and Simulation, and also used for labwork activity for students of The Undergraduate Program, researcher of The Graduate Program and The Doctoral Program. Many research topics has been released in recent years. This laboratory provides training in following areas:

This laboratory has following major software package:

ETAP (Electrical Transient Analysis Program)

ETAP offers a suite of fully integrated electrical engineering software solutions including arc flash, load flow, short circuit, transient stability, relay coordination, power system optimization, and more.

PSCAD

PSCAD/EMTDC is a general purpose time domain simulation program for multi-phase power system and control network. It is mainly dedicated to the analysis of Power Electronics Simulation and electromagnetic transients in power system. PSCAD seamlessly integrate visual environment feature for all aspects of conducting a simulation, including circuit assembly, run-time control. The solution meters and the plotting traces are also visible and available during the simulation. Signals can be analyzed in real time.
